From that year 1987, a movie some say had the best ending ever. That's a whole lot of praise, but it was a nice finale for the life and story of Chicano pop star Ritchie Valens, played here by actor Lou Diamond Phillips. His brother was played by actor Esai Morales, who did a better-than-most job and should have grabbed some sort of Hollywood award...
I remember seeing this movie at the theater. The scenes are so true to the era back then, like in this opening scene where his mom is drawing clothespins from that homemade cloth sack. My mom had one.
