Perry Hints At Presidential Run...Why?...

By EDUARDO PAZ-MARTINEZ

McALLEN, Texas | He'll do it. Rick Perry will run for president again. The former Texas governor has nothing else going. He's 73 and looking at one last rodeo.

In a meeting with editors of the right-wing Washington Examiner, Republican Perry would not endorse his former boss Donald J. Trump and teased a 2024 presidential campaign.

Perry ran for president in 2012 and 2016 but found little success in his efforts.

You could add a quote from Perry here (and they are out there), but who cares, right?

He has no chance, not when others are already harvesting vote prospects, like extremist Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and overly religious former Vice-President Mike Pence, among a good half-dozen others. We'll get deeper into this as the weeks and months advance toward Election Day in November of next year. The party primaries begin next Spring.

Perry was governor of Texas from 2000 to 2015. His terms in office were marked by petty politics that have been followed by successor Greg Abbott's petty politics. One of the more intriguing issues he battled was whether or not he was Gay.

The feisty alternative Austin Chronicle doggedly chased that story for months, eventually forcing Perry to address the prevalent rumor and issue a public denial.

It says here that Perry should hang low, wherever he is.

No presidential campaign, no...
