STAFF REPORT
HARLINGEN, Texas | Looks like the Starbucks craze is over in the mid-valley. Newly-minted Harlingen Mayor Norma Sepulveda has found local newcomer Dutch Brothers Coffee more to her liking? Appears so.
This from the mayor, off her FACEBOOK page: [ Blown away by all the love the City of Harlingen is giving Dutch Bros Coffee during their grand opening! Folks have been lining up since 4:30 am for their deliciousness in a cup!
Reminder: They have a walk-up window in addition to the drive thru. I parked and ordered at the window and received my drink relatively quickly.
They are open until 11pm! ]
Her drink: skinny iced double-chocolate mocha
Check it out, she says.
And while you're at it, check out the rest of Harlingen. Summer's always a good time for a drive into this city of 72,000 sheltered denizens and a cornucopia of antique shops and old school bars. Our favorite: Las Cazuelas restaurant downtown.
Their less-publicized coffee ain't bad, either...
